SSCVC -– Sri Sri Centre for Values and Culture  (‘Sri Sri Sanskar Kendra’, SSSK)

SSCVC is a creative educational project for children aged 6 to 11.  It is delivered in a series of 10 to 12 weekly sessions, usually for 2 hours on Sunday mornings.  Its purpose is to instil a sense of values and belongingness in children.  It uses playfulness to give insight into well-loved cultural traditions from different parts of the world. 

Course Content:

Each 2-hour session shares a series of regular components including the use of yoga, chants and mantras based on the Indian heritage. Other components are stories about individuals who inspired their country with exceptional achievements.  Examples are drawn from countries around the world, including Australia. Similarly some common recipes from ‘Grandmother’s treasure chest ‘are introduced and trialed.  The overriding idea is to enjoy time with each other, while playfully opening the children’s eyes and minds to different ways of seeing, and different ways of doing things.
